We also suggest bringing in your own music and equipment or even to borrow equipment to try in your home.

Ben Adams
FounderI’ve had the pleasure of making my passion my work. The HiFi industry has been home for me for over 25 years.
I’ve travelled Australia, Europe and Asia educating dealers about Turntables, Tonearms and Cartridge configuration. Running educational seminars and Professional Cartridge set-ups have kept me busy throughout the past 25 years. I enjoy the surprised look on my customers faces when they finally hear their prized equipment for the first time after one of my 6 hour set-ups.
My customers are more like friends and I genuinely enjoy the process of discovering the perfect combination of equipment for them.
I have a Degree in Architecture and Electronic Engineering with a passion for product design, accuracy and perfection.
I am a Glasgow trained Linn LP12 technician with over 25 years experience working on LP12’s, Thorens, Rega, Garrard, Kuzma, Acoustic Signature, Thales, VPI, Michell, Clear Audio, Project, EAT, Lenco, Revox, Funk Firm, Thales, SME and many many more.
Simon Wilde
Passionate about sound and music from a young age and with a keen interest in electronics I found myself drawn to HiFi. A hobby that turned into a career. Studying Electronic Engineering and working for the Department of Defense in an array of areas including the Satellite Communications and Ordnance Explosives Divisions I gained experience in signal transmission, military specification quality control, multi array vibration and accelerometer data acquisition. Also design and development experience for applied field testing equipment, working with high precision CNC machining and manufacturing disciplines within the many support groups.
I moved into the HiFi and audio industry in the mid 90’s eventually heading up the Research & Development team at international speaker company Duntech Audio, was involved in multi faceted manufacturing within a turn key manufacturing company supplying export speakers and HiFi, and then heading R&D and General Manager for Australian stalwart VAF Research. I’ve had a wonderfully wide and diverse exposure to the electronics and mechanical engineering fields that segue beautifully into the world of HiFi and the search for the truth of the engineering behind the ‘dark arts’ of music reproduction.
With over 25 years experience in the industry I’ve continued to apply the rational and results based engineering principles that have become the corner stone of performance advancements and award winning designs I have been a part of. We’re excited to focus our experience and skills together into HiFi Guru to provide genuine high quality products and refurbishments for one of the most demanding and challenging HiFi sources – the analogue turntable.
Tim Matthew
BA Music, DipEdTim is a Musician and educator with nearly 40 years of experience. He has performed with some of Australia’s most respected Artists (Kate Ceberano, Tex Perkins, Archie Roach, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Rick Price to name a few!) and enjoys a diverse career within the Music Industry.
Listening is the heart and mind of any Musician. Tim’s love of music and audio equipment goes back to early childhood, where the family turntable was the most important object in the house. Tim appreciates the pristine sonic reproduction of CD’s and is passionate about Vinyl.
Tim has had significant experience with audio systems, amplifiers, speakers and recording equipment. He has operated a recording studio, played on and produced records for commercial release. He understands the synergy of different components and is impressed by his ears rather than a price tag or a verbose webpage.
